Overview:
30 hour-course over 6 weeks

Week 1: Introduction to Bookkeeping & Setup
In the first week, we will cover the fundamentals of bookkeeping, starting with an introduction to what bookkeeping is and why it is essential. Students will learn how to set up QuickBooks Online (QBO) and gain a basic understanding of the platform's functionalities. Additionally, we will introduce key bookkeeping terminology that will be used throughout the course. An overview of the test and the homework platform will also be provided, ensuring that students are familiar with the tools and expectations for the course.
Week 2: Getting Set Up – Chart of Accounts & Configuratio
Week 3: Customers vs. Vendors & Money Flow
Week 4: Bank Reconciliation & Automation
Week 5: Handling Complex Clients & Reporting
Week 6: Taxes & Final Review

Auriel Ramsey is a Denver Based Bookkeeping, Accounting, and Tax professional with nine years of industry experience. Early in her career, she discovered her passion for working with small businesses. Her goal is to empower small business owners in all stages of the business life cycle with the tools to understand and apply the information in their financial statements and ultimately use this information for the purpose of making strategic decisions. For many small businesses, she is often at the center of the finance department with daily responsibilities of tracking key performance indicators, measuring project revenue, managing cash flow, securing capital, and implementing financial risk control procedures. Her functional skills include audit and compliance, projecting and forecasting revenue, budget vs. actual analysis, and strategic tax planning. She is the Founder of EZTAX Denver, a Denver-based, employee-owned tax preparation company for individuals and small businesses. She also owns Upgrade Accounting Services LLC and currently serves as the Vice President of Operations, Finance, and Inclusion at Street Source Marketing and Communications. Ramsey holds a bachelor’s Degree in Finance, and her master’s Degree in Accountancy, and is currently a CPA Candidate through the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy. She is a Denver native and calls Centennial, Colorado home.
